The 1st World Weather Open Science Conference will be held in Montréal, Canada, August 16-21, 2014. The overarching theme of the conference is 'Seamless Prediction of the Earth System: from minutes to months'. The Conference is structured around two programs: " The Science Program which will cover basic weather research that extends our knowledge of processes and systems as well as the applied research needed to put prediction systems together and assess the impacts of weather and climate events. " The User, Application & Social Science Program which will consider the goods and services economy, the role of government in disaster risk reduction and management, and the communication of weather information. Visit us to learn more about the conference as well as sponsoring and exhibiting opportunities.

YES showcases the latest in automated aircraft upper air sounding equipment. Featuring a compact design, 4 Hz GPS winds, sea-surface temperature sensors, and sophisticated interference-resistant RF telemetry, XDD dropsondes are dispensed up to 80 at a time via the Automated Dropsonde Dispenser (ADD). In November 2013, we successfully flew the HDSS High Definition Sounding System on NASA's high altitude WB-57 aircraft. Meanwhile, the XDR radiosonde's ultralightweight design supports smaller balloons and lower operating costs. Also shown will be the MFR-7 shadowband radiometer with thermopile broadband detector, Total Sky ImagerTM (cloud cover), and the no-moving parts TPS-3100 HotplateTM all-weather measurement system (liquid/solid precipitation via reliable thermodynamics + wind speed, pressure, temperature, relative humidity, solar radiation, and thermal infrared): ideal for aviation weather de-icing operations.
