Student Assistant Program

Applications are due by 13 October 2017.

Do you have what it takes to be a student assistant?  We are looking for dependable undergraduate AMS student members to work directly with AMS staff members at the AMS Annual Meeting in Austin, Texas. Students must be able to assist the full week. AMS provides student assistants with hotel accommodations (shared with other students), meeting registration, and a small per diem for meal expenses. AMS does not cover travel costs.

When not working, students can network, attend sessions, and visit the exhibit area. Although student assistantship is a demanding job, it is fun and educational too!

Apply to be a Student Assistant

Eligibility

Undergraduate AMS student members or full members with student privileges are eligible to apply. Check your member status in your account profile and renew if necessary. For more information about membership, please visit our member page. Your academic advisor will receive an email for validation of your good standing.

Process

Interested students must complete the online application form. Advisors will receive an email notification once the application is submitted. Applications are reviewed after the deadline date and positions are filled until the available number of assistantships is met. If all positions are filled, a waiting list will be established for remaining qualified applicants. We prefer to accept no more than four students from any one school unless there are not sufficient applicants from other locations. All candidates are notified by e-mail of their standing.
