Abstract Fee and Author Instructions
The conference brings together AI researchers and environmental scientists, with the goal of fostering collaboration between the two groups. We aim to increase the understanding and use of AI techniques in the environmental sciences and to demonstrate the wide range of open problems. AI encompasses a broad field of computational intelligence disciplines including data mining, machine learning, statistical learning, self-organizing systems, evolutionary learning and expert systems.
We invite submissions on all topics related to artificial intelligence and its applications to environmental science for our upcoming conference. The theme for the 2018 AMS Annual Meeting is “Transforming Communication in the Weather, Water, and Climate Enterprise Focusing on Challenges Facing Our Sciences.” We welcome contributions that emphasize communications of how AI techniques are implemented throughout the environmental sciences and how their results are communicated.
Sessions will include the following topics including sessions organized with other AMS conferences:
The American Meteorological Society (AMS) Committee on Artificial Intelligence Applications to Environmental Science (AI Committee) is proud to present cash awards for outstanding student oral presentations at the 2018 AI conference ($200 first place, $150 second place, $100 third place, $50 honorable mention) which will be held 7 – 11 January 2018 in Austin, Texas. The outstanding paper awards will be based on originality of research and quality of presentation delivery.
Contenders for the award will have to:
* be enrolled at a University (either at undergraduate or graduate level),
* be the lead-author and personally make the presentation of their work,
Students who wish to be considered for this prize should indicate so when submitting their abstract.
The AI Committee will also award two (2) travel awards of $350 each. Interested students need to indicate whether they wish to be considered for travel awards when submitting their abstract.
