The 6th Aviation, Range and Aerospace Meteorology (ARAM) Symposium seeks to align its focus with the general theme of the 98th AMS Annual Meeting, “Transforming Communication in the Weather, Water, and Climate Enterprise – Focusing on Challenges Facing Our Sciences.” To this end, the ARAM Symposium will spotlight fundamental challenges and opportunities in effectively communicating aviation, range, and aerospace meteorological hazards and impacts to consumers and decision-makers relying on this guidance to optimize safety and efficiency for their respective missions. To accomplish this, the Symposium invites papers focused on both the challenges in observing, predicting, and translating weather hazards pertinent to this domain as well as the research, development, and execution challenges in providing the most beneficial weather support to domain consumers and decision-makers.
Papers for this conference are solicited on:
In addition, the Symposium chairs invite intended conference participants to email them “wish list” items with respect to ARAM-related research and development needs, observation needs and wants, and end user products and methods for communication and information sharing. The chairs will compile and organize these submissions, with plans to communicate them to the ARAM Conference Committee (for future considerations) and to provide them as handouts at the ARAM Symposium.
The Sixth Aviation, Range, and Aerospace Meteorology Symposium is organized by the AMS Committee on Aviation, Range, and Aerospace Meteorology.
For additional information about the 2018 ARAM Symposium, please contact the Program Chairs, Mike Robinson, The MITRE Corporation (email: firstname.lastname@example.org, phone 703-983-0983) and Gordon Brooks, 557th Weather Wing, Offutt AFB (email: email@example.com, phone 402-294-1682), or the ARAM Committee Chair, Dr. Cecilia Miner, NOAA NWS (email: firstname.lastname@example.org, phone 301-427-9110). As discussed above, please email an ARAM-related ‘wish list’ items directly to Mike and Gordon.
