Climate Variability and Change Travel Scholarship for Graduate Students

Applications are now available for the AMS Climate Change Travel Scholarships for graduate students to attend the 24th Conference on Climate Variability and Change to be held 22 January - 26 January 2012 in New Orleans, Louisiana as part of the 92nd AMS Annual Meeting.

The scholarships will cover round-trip air travel to New Orleans, hotel accommodations for seven nights, and the registration fee for the 92nd AMS Annual Meeting.  Eligible candidates must be full-time graduate students, enrolled in a department of meteorology, atmospheric sciences, hydrology, earth, geophysical, or physical/chemical/biological sciences at an accredited U.S. institution, and must be sponsored by a faculty advisor in the department in which the student is doing graduate study.

To apply, download the application; complete all areas and mail to:

Climate Change Scholarship Program, 45 Beacon Street, Boston, MA 02108-3693 or you may fax it to the attention of Donna Fernandez, 617-742-8718.  If you are unable to obtain the form electronically, please request one by calling 617-226-3907 or e-mail: dfernandez@ametsoc.org.  A completed application must be postmarked or faxed by 21 October 2011.

 

Selection Process

Applications will be reviewed by the Conference Program Committee.  Applicants will be notified sometime in November 2011.  A waiting list will also be compiled should selected students be unable to accept the scholarship.
