10th History Symposium

Conference Program
View by day or program, includes author index and personal scheduler

The 10th History Symposium, sponsored by the American Meteorological Society, and organized by the AMS History Committee, will be held 22–26 January 2012, as part of the 92nd AMS Annual Meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Papers for this conference are solicited on the history of atmospheric sciences, broadly conceived, in any time period or cultural context. Papers addressing historical aspects of observational and modeling efforts, climate change and its impacts, scientific partnerships, and science policy as it pertains to atmospheric, oceanographic, and hydrological issues are especially welcome. Consonant with this year’s overall AMS theme, papers that address historical connections between meteorology and technology are also encouraged. The History Committee promotes discourse between atmospheric scientists, professional historians, and science librarians and archivists.
