Major Weather Events and Impacts of 2011

This one day session will highlight the major weather related events and their impacts that occurred in 2011. In keeping with the theme of the annual meeting, invited guest speakers are asked to consider how technologies played a role in the major events of the past year. The session is for invited speakers, but proposals on significant events that occur throughout the year are welcome. Two of the themes generally included are Global and US Weather Impacts, but opportunities exist as major events occur to create two other themed sessions during the day as well. Past themes have included Decision Support during Major Events, Urban Weather Events, Weather and Transportation Impacts, Marine Weather Events and Weather and Health Impacts.
