Special Symposium on the Tornado Disasters of 2011

The Symposium on Tornado Disasters of 2011, cosponsored by the Committee on Severe Local Storms, will focus on the significant tornado disasters of 2011. This symposium is joint with the Major Weather Events and Impacts of 2011, focusing on tornado disasters and related disaster scenarios. Both invited talks and solicited talks will be included.      

Papers for this symposium will address factual, meteorological and sociological aspects of significant and deadly tornadoes of 2011 such as the tornado outbreak of 14–16 April, the noteworthy tornado outbreak over the Southeast on 26–27 April, the Joplin tornado of 22 May, and other noteworthy events involving various aspects of tornado disasters. For this Tornado Disasters symposium a $95 fee (for solicited abstracts) includes the submission of your abstract, the posting of your extended abstract, and the uploading and recording of your presentation, which will be archived on the AMS Web site.
