Women in the Atmospheric Sciences Luncheon: Diversity and Disaster—How do gender, ethnicity and race impact vulnerability and resilience?

The American Meteorological Society’s Board on Women and Minorities will be hosting its annual Women in the Atmospheric Sciences Luncheon on Wednesday, 25 January from 12:00-1:30 p.m.  Lunch will be provided for the first 200 attendees (sponsored by the Harris Corporation and Lockheed Martin). This year’s panel discussion is “Diversity and Disaster: How do gender, ethnicity, and race impact vulnerability and resilience?” Panelists include Dr. Pamela Jenkins, Dr. Kristina Peterson, Dr. Paty Romero-Lankao and Dr. Beverly Wright. Melissa Burt will ask panelists to describe their research as it relates to Katrina and other disasters.
