Enhancing Operational Capabilities: Progress and Plans for R2O-Enabling Technologies

This session will focus on Earth science technology innovations aimed at improving science and operational services.  Special emphasis will be given to innovations that quantify the changing distribution of extreme weather events and enable improvements in weather prediction; such as: 

  • Advanced radiometer concepts supporting climate and weather research;
  • Innovative techniques for measuring winds, aerosols, and ozone;
  • New capabilities for measuring and monitoring all forms of precipitation; and
  • Anticipated advances to meet future requirements.
