Innovative Methods of Processing, Integrating and Analyzing Observations from Satellites
Conference Program
View by day or program, includes author index and personal scheduler
We are soliciting papers for this session which will discuss and demonstrate methods and advances in data assimilation of current and future satellite observations, and their impacts on numerical weather prediction model performance and the quality of products for research and operational purposes, including weather, ocean, and climate monitoring and forecasting.
We will focus on scientific and technological advances and their related results that demonstrate the best use and impact of satellite observations to improve the numerical weather prediction accuracy. Topics of interest will include assimilation of satellite observations (of the ocean, atmosphere, and land surface); assimilation methods; minimization techniques; forward models and their adjoints; incorporation of constraints; experiments involving satellite observations, real or hypothetical; data impact assessments (sensitivity of forecasts to a particular source of satellite observations); and observing system simulation experiments.
Host Conference:
18th Conference on Satellite Meteorology, Oceanography, and Climatology
Partnering Conference(s):
16th Symposium on Integrated Observing and Assimilation Systems for the Atmosphere, Oceans, and Land Surface (IOAS-AOLS)
Second Conference on Transition of Research to Operations: Successes, Plans, and Challenges
