Focus of Session: This session will focus on scientific, technical, and policy issues surrounding transportation, technology and weather. In particular, papers are sought on the following topics: (1) quantifying the impacts of weather on the transportation system; (2) fixed and mobile observing systems to measure weather and transportation (e.g., road) conditions; (3) meteorological and technology advancements to affect weather-related decision making (e.g., decision support systems) by transportation managers and users (including in-vehicle applications); and (4) assessments of the benefits and costs of technology applications within the transportation environment.
