Journal Author's Workshop: Publishing with the AMS
Sunday, 22 January, 1:30-3:00 p.m.; Tuesday, 24 January, 12:15-1:15 p.m.; Thursday, 26 January, 8:30-9:45 a.m.; Room 235/236
This workshop is for past, present, and future AMS journal authors (and Editors!) interested in learning about how publishing in AMS's scientific and technical journals works. It will be an overview of the entire publications process, as it exists today, from initial submission for peer review to acceptance and final publication. Attendees will be able to explore the resources available on AMS's Web site, review requirements for manuscripts to enter the peer-review process, and see a demonstration on submitting a manuscript to the Editorial Manager manuscript tracking system. The audience will also follow the production workflow from the moment a manuscript is accepted all the way to final publication. This workshop will be especially valuable for students and young scientists at the beginning of their careers, as well as those who have not recently published an article in one of the AMS journals. Tuesday’s session will include information specific to authors who use LaTeX or TeX to compose their manuscripts.
