16th Conference on Atmospheric Chemistry Student Awards

16th Conference on Atmospheric Chemistry Call for Papers

Awards for Best Poster and Oral Presentations:
Award certificates and cash prizes will be given for the best student oral and poster presentations at the conference. The first-place winners in each of these categories will receive $200. The second-place winners will receive $100 and third place winners $50.  To be eligible the paper must primarily focus on research completed while the presenter was a student.

Travel funding assistance for students:
The Atmospheric Chemistry Committee is offering to pay for conference registration for two student AMS members who are presenting papers at the conference.  Funding is available to both graduate and undergraduate students, but is limited to one award per educational institution.  Furthermore, the awardee may not receive any concurrent travel support from the AMS (e.g., an AMS travel grant).  The selected students will be reimbursed by AMS after the conference with proper receipts.

To apply, students should prepare a short written statement (no more than one page) declaring their financial need and circumstance, relevance of their research to the conference, and how they will benefit from attending the conference.  Applicants should also provide a copy of their abstract for the meeting.  Applications should be sent in pdf format via email to both conference Co-Chairs: Prof. Tom Jobson ([email protected]) and Prof.  Nicole Molders ([email protected]).   Applications will be accepted through 31 October 2014 and selected students will be notified around the end of November 2013.  Interested applicants or questions about the award should contact the conference co-chairs.
