2014 AMS Annual Meeting



The American Meteorological Society (AMS) Teacher Workshop exists to present the best educational resources, scientific tools, and research in the atmospheric and related sciences to teachers. Its primary purpose is to promote relevant STEM learning and an awareness of AMS, its services, and its leadership in the field.

Workshop attendees are free to browse the various offerings that are part of our Share-a-thon scheduled for Saturday afternoon and engage in a variety of STEM activities pertinent to AMS and the 2014 Annual Meeting's theme: Extreme Weather—Climate and the Built Environment: New Perspectives, Opportunities, and Tools.

During the lunch period, we will host a variety of organizations simultaneously that will share their educational resources and activities.  

Workshop Audience:  4th-9th Grade educators from the Atlanta, Georgia metro area primarily, along with other interested educators from other states attending the conference.

Registration Deadline: January 10, 2014, the cost is $25.00 to attend the workshop.

Sunday, 2 February, 12:00–4:00 P.M.; Exhibit Hall C3

WeatherFest will feature more than 70 cool and interactive science exhibits with experiments, educational information, career guides, and much more from scientists and teachers from all over the nation. The mission of WeatherFest is to instill a love for math and science in children of all ages and to spark a young person’s interest in these areas so they may consider a career in the science and engineering fields.

This is a fun afternoon designed not only for the residents of Atlanta but for all attending the annual meeting.
