28th Conference on Hydrology

Call for Papers

Papers for this conference are solicited on advances in hydrology and hydrometeorology, both from a scientific and operational perspective.  Topics of interest include:  Commercial application of hydrometeorological products and services; Drought analysis and prediction; Advances in evaporation and evaporative demand; Remote sensing applications in hydrology; Land data assimilation techniques and systems; Integrated metrics and benchmarking for next generation hydro/land surface modeling of the water cycle; Land-atmosphere interactions; Water resources:  forecaster to water manager – impacts; Regional climate modeling; Precipitation processes and observations for atmospheric, land surface, and hydrological modeling; and Flood prediction, analysis, decision support, & management

Joint sessions are planned with the 26th Conference on Climate Variability and Change, 8th Conference on Integrated Observing and Assimilation Systems for the Atmosphere, Oceans, and Land Surface (IOAS-AOLS), 22nd Conference on Probability and Statistics in the Atmospheric Sciences, 11th Symposium on the Urban Environment on Urban Hydrology and Flood, and the Education Symposium on Interdisciplinary Research and Education on Precipitation Prediction and Extremes.

Also of interest are hydrological studies and applications that otherwise connect to the general theme of the 94th Annual AMS Meeting: “Extreme Weather—Climate and the Built Environment:  New Perspectives Opportunities, and Tools

The Hydrology Committee will host a student paper competition with awards for exemplary student poster and oral presentations.
