97th AMS Annual Meeting | 22–26 January 2017 | Seattle, WA

Meet AMS President Fred Carr

Tuesday 24 January–Thursday, 26 January, 10:00–10:30 A.M.; AMS Resource Center

AMS President Fred Carr looks forward to the opportunity to meet with attendees of the 2017 Annual Meeting.  He would especially welcome thoughts of AMS members in three general areas:  The first is related to the theme of this meeting “Observations Lead the Way.”  He invites attendees to share their thoughts on the most important observational needs in their disciplines and how the nation might acquire these observations.  The second area is how the AMS can improve the way it serves its members:  what is the AMS doing well now that should be retained and what new services or activities should be added?  Finally, Dr. Carr is interested in how the United States can best move forward in operational numerical weather prediction, and what can be done to ensure the country is “second to none.”  However, he welcomes hearing about any topic an attendee wishes to discuss, as well as those who just wish to stop by and say hello.

Opportunities to meet with the AMS President will be  in the lounge area of the Resource Center area located in the Exihibit Hall, Tuesday–Thursday from 10:00–10:30 a.m.
