The theme of the 2018 AMS Annual Meeting is “Transforming Communication in the Weather, Water and Climate Enterprise”. In support of this theme, the 31st CVC will be hosting a town hall meeting on “The Role of Twitter and Online Blogs in Scientific Communications on Climate Change”.
Oral and poster presentations are solicited on all aspects of climate variability and change, both observational and modeling studies. Papers directed at an improved understanding of the changing climate are especially encouraged, and sessions on the following topics are planned:
A special session honoring Jay Fein’s contributions to the field of Climate Variability and Change is also planned. Additional session topics are welcome and encouraged. Please contact the program chairs (contact information noted below) by 1 May 2017 to propose a session topic.
The Climate Variability and Change Committee encourages abstract submissions from students and postdocs. Awards for outstanding oral and poster presentations will be given for student contributions. Registrants should indicate their eligibility for student awards when submitting their abstracts.
