100th Annual Meeting Poster Presenter Information

Congratulations for being selected as a poster presenter!

All posters will be located in Hall B1 of the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center.

How will I present?

  • Have your poster printed by a large format printing company.
  • Set up your poster during the scheduled set up time.
  • Stand by your poster, ready to talk about your poster and answer questions from other attendees during the formal poster viewing hours.
  • Tear down your poster during the scheduled tear down time. Please note that AMS is not responsible for any posters left up after the tear down time.

*If you do not plan to present your poster at the meeting, please withdraw your abstract from Presenter's Corner or email the Meetings Department at [email protected] as soon as possible.*

What will I present?

  • The Standard Poster Display is a 4'H x 8'W (1.2m x 2.4m) double-sided Velcro covered panel. These panels have a horizontal/landscape orientation. Presenters are not permitted to move the boards or change the orientation.
  • You can mount your poster with AMS supplied pushpins or Velcro.
  • Only one accepted abstract/topic is allowed on each board. If you are scheduled to present 2 posters within the same session, please contact the Meetings Department ([email protected]) and we can work on changing the placement of the posters as soon as possible.
  • Feel free to bring handouts or upload your poster image to Presenter’s Corner. (see instructions here) to reference during formal poster viewing hours.
  • Want to use your laptop to enhance your poster? Send us a request before the meeting but please note that we don’t provide electricity or internet in our poster halls.
  • Want to point people to even more information about your poster?  Include a QR Code. Information on QR codes, including reader software and code generators, is available online (http://www.mobile-barcodes.com/).
  • Presenters are not permitted to change the orientation of the board

  • Presenters are not permitted to display more than one poster on a board.

Tips for your Poster Presentation:

  • Place the title at the top center of the poster.
  • Use 72 point letters.
  • Avoid hand drawn materials.
  • Keep it simple.
  • Do not post the pages of your paper.
  • Make sure it has a logical flow.
  • Use color, graphics, charts, and photos.
  • Key points should be in large type.
  • Do not try to tell the entire story on the panel.
  • Save some key points for the one-on-one discussion.
  • Avoid the following color combinations: Green&Red; Green&Brown; Blue&Purple; Green&Blue; Light Green&Yellow; Blue&Grey; Green&Grey; Green&Black
  • At this time, we ask Presenting Authors to begin making arrangements in case of a government shutdown.  Please plan to have your own contingency plan in the event that you will not be able to join us in Boston regardless of your government status (i.e. travel issues due to weather, illness, etc.). This includes identifying a backup presenter and sharing a preliminary version of the presentation.

If needed, you can find your presentation date, time and location posted in the
