Call for Papers

Papers for the 20th Symposium on the Coastal Environment are solicited on the following:

  • Coupled Coastal Flood Modeling for the Consumer Option for an Alternative System To Allocate Losses (COASTAL) Act
  • Effective communication of probabilistic predictions and uncertainty for coastal communities
  • Meteorological processes in the coastal zone
  • Understanding and Predicting Coastal Zone Processes to support Resilience, Navigation, and the Blue Economy

Joint Sessions

  • Machine Learning applications in the Coastal Environment
  • Causes and impacts of climate change on coastal communities
  • Impact of Recent Storms in Northern Gulf of Mexico

Student Award Opportunities

The 20th Symposium on the Coastal Environment will host a student paper competition with award certificates and cash prizes for exemplary undergraduate and graduate student oral presentations. Students must be the first author and presenting their own, original work. Students who wish to be considered for this prize must indicate their eligibility when submitting their abstract.
