SESSION 2: Critical Environmental Health Challenges on Mental Health, Energy Security, and Risk Assessment

Session 2, Monday, 24 January at 10:45 AM

(Joint between the Presidential Sessions, the 13th Conference on Environment and Health, and the 13th Conference on Weather, Climate, and the New Energy Economy)

Adverse impacts to mental health and household economic security are emerging as significant concerns associated with climate shocks and stressors. This session will feature presentations that explore various connections between extreme weather and climate events, mental health, and economic security. Presentations span a diverse range of societal outcomes, geographic settings, and methodological approaches, but share a unifying theme of pursuing new strategies to reduce historically under-addressed but significant threats to health and well-being.
