Presidential Forum

Gather in New Orleans, the 105th Annual Meeting of the American Meteorological Society beings by discussing chronic and acute environment changes impacting physical, social, cultural, and economic systems and communities throughout the Mississippi River Delta and Gulf Coast regions. In the Presidential Forum, a distinguished panel will address risks, strategies, and resilience throughout the broad area of the Gulf Coast, which acts as a microcosm of global change.

The theme of the 2025 AMS Annual Meeting, which is "Toward a Thriving Planet: Charting a Course Across Scales" addresses the impacts of global environmental changes on physical, societal, cultural, and economic systems across space and time scales. Throughout the week of the Annual Meeting, daily Presidential Sessions will address a variety of topics to highlight actionable science for the Society at large that aims to chart a future course for a more resilient and thriving planet.
