Resources for Presenting an Abstract

Presenters who submitted an abstract to the 105th Annual Meeting will speak during a live session or present a poster. During abstract submission, submitters can select one of five preferred presentation formats.

In-Person Oral Presenter: An abstract that has been reviewed and accepted by the program chairs. This presenter presents a slide deck in-person in the session room during an oral or joint oral session.

Virtual Oral Presenter:  An abstract that has been reviewed and accepted by the program chairs. This presenter presents a slide deck virtually via Zoom during an oral or joint oral session.

In-Person Poster PresenterAn abstract that has been reviewed and accepted by the program chairs. This presenter presents a poster during a poster or joint poster session. The Standard Poster Display is a 4'H x 6'W (1.2m x 1.8m) double-sided Velcro covered panel. These panels have a horizontal/landscape orientation. Poster and joint poster sessions are held in person only.

Virtual Poster Presenter: An abstract that has been reviewed and accepted by the program chairs. This presenter will present via screen share in the form of a PDF (a digital copy of what would be presented for a traditional in-person poster as seen above) or PowerPoint (breaking the information down into a series of slides) during a Virtual Poster Slam. The Virtual Poster Slam will take place via Zoom and will be accessible by all registered attendees. Virtual posters are only presented virtually. The Virtual Poster Slam will take place on Tuesday, 7 January, 2025 at 1:00 PM CT, the week before the hybrid portion of the meeting to promote engagement exclusively online.

ePoster PresenterAn abstract that has been reviewed and accepted by the program chairs. Electronic posters (ePosters) are similar to traditional poster presentations but presented on a large format, high resolution touch screen monitors.  ePosters are presented in-person.

Please note that while the submitter's preferred presentation format is collected during submission, abstracts are accepted and scheduled at the program chairs' discretion.

Visit Presenter's Corner to manage your abstract:

  • Check/Change Abstract Title (by 14 November)
  • Check/Change Author Listing (by 14 November)
  • Confirm/Change Presentation Method: Virtual/In-Person (by 15 December)
  • Upload Presentation File: Slides (at least 24 hours before your session) (if applicable - In-Person Oral Presentations Only)
  • Upload Optional Supplementary Information (by 1 March): PDF File, Extended Abstract, and/or Supplementary URL
    • We encourage all presenters to submit supplementary information as your time to present at the meeting is limited. Posting this information online is an excellent opportunity to include more detailed information that may require more time for study than is available at the meeting. All supplementary information is available in the meeting online program within 24 hours of upload – so you can reference it before, during, and after the meeting!
  • Withdraw Abstract: Abstracts should be withdrawn if the presenting author is unable to present or identify a replacement presenting author. Please note withdrawn papers will still be accessible on the conference online program and authors will still be able to upload supplementary materials such as extended abstracts, PDFs of presentations and/or poster images as well as links to other websites.
