The 38th Conference on Climate Variability and Change is sponsored by the American Meteorological Society and organized by the AMS Committee on Climate Variability and Change.
The science of climate variability and change encompasses a broad range of space and time scales and brings together a variety of interrelated disciplines. We welcome submissions on all scientific aspects of climate variability and change, including observational, theoretical, and modeling-based approaches.
We particularly encourage submissions to the following themed sessions:
Student Presentation Award
The 38th Conference on Climate Variability and Change is also sponsoring a competition for students to showcase their own original research in climate science. Judging criteria include scientific rigor, presentation quality, and overall impact. The competition will grant first and second place cash prizes to 4 winners, with $100 for 1st and 2nd place in both oral and poster presentations. To be eligible, participants must meet these criteria:
Student Presenter Travel Allowance
The committee is pleased to offer four (4) Student Presenter Travel Allowances of $400 each to attend the AMS 105th Annual Meeting in New Orleans from 12 to 16 January 2025. The Student Presenter Travel Allowance is designed to help offset expenses relating to registration fees, transportation costs, food, and lodging for students presenting posters or oral papers. To apply, students should prepare a short written statement (no more than one page) declaring their financial need and circumstance, the relevance of their research to the conference, how they will benefit from attending the conference, and a copy of their abstract for the meeting. Students who wish to apply must submit their application to the program chairs via email with the subject line “AMS 105th Annual Meeting - Student Presenter Travel Allowance Application'': Gretchen Keppel-Aleks ([email protected]) and Youngji Joh ([email protected]).
