The AMS 106th Annual Meeting offers many opportunities for journalists to learn the state of scientific advancement in weather, climate, and water-related disciplines. It is also a chance to locate sources and speak with experts across disciplines about newsworthy issues. Eligible members of the press and public information officers may register to attend the meeting for free (see below). AMS staff will be available to help you navigate the meeting and make connections.

Eligibility for press registration is limited to the working press and freelance science writers with appropriate credentials, as well as public information officers of scientific societies, educational institutions, and government agencies. While on-site attendance is a great opportunity, we also offer a full hybrid meeting experience for those who cannot make it to Houston.
The form to request press registration information will be available in October. Please note, this form does NOT count as registration for the meeting. Your request will be reviewed, and upon acceptance you will receive a follow-up email with details on completing the official online registration process.

The 106th Annual Meeting will feature a press room where members of the media can work, with an AMS staffer who can help answer questions or arrange interviews.
A Press Briefing Room will be available for press briefings and private interviews by appointment only. To schedule a time, please contact Rachel Thomas-Medwid.
Our AMS communications staff will be available before, during, and after the meeting to help you arrange interviews or learn about the 106th Annual Meeting.
