In preparation for the planned five-year update to the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Atmospheric System Research (ASR) Program Science plan, the program staff conducted four workshops during 2015–2016 focused on topical challenges in atmospheric process research, including the following subjects: secondary organic aerosols, marine low clouds, absorbing aerosols, and convective processes. At this town hall meeting, DOE program managers and workshop chairs will lead discussion on the outcome of these workshops as well as challenges and opportunities for DOE-led progress in each of the topical areas.
