Location of Functions

Annual Meeting registration, scientific sessions, poster sessions, short courses, town hall meetings, special sessions, the Annual Meeting Banquet, the Glahn Symposium Luncheon, the Kalnay Symposium Luncheon, and exhibits will be held in the Phoenix Convention Center, 100 North Third Street, Phoenix, AZ 85004 (tel: 602-262-6225). AMS committee meetings will be held at the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel, 340 N 3rd St., Phoenix, AZ 85004 (tel: 866-460-7456).

Parking is available at the Phoenix Convention Center for $12 per day with no in–out privileges (subject to change).

Registration Desk
Exhibit Hall C1 Lobby

The AMS Registration Desk will be open for the Student Conference and this year’s two-day Short Courses on Saturday, 3 January, 7:30–10:00 a.m., and for this year’s one-day Short Courses on Sunday, 4 January, 7:30–9:00 a.m.

Annual Meeting registration will be held on Sunday, 4 January, 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.; Monday, 5 January–Wednesday, 7 January, 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.; and Thursday, 8 January, 7:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m.

AMS Resource Center

AMS is one of the country's leading voices in the weather, water, and climate community. Since 1919, we have focused on advancing the atmospheric and related oceanic and hydrologic sciences, technologies, applications, and services.

The AMS Resource Center provides information about AMS membership and programs, including journals and books, certification, precollege and college education initiatives, student opportunities, the AMS Policy Program, local chapters, and AMS meetings. AMS provides many opportunities for everyone across the entire enterprise, whether you're just starting your career or have years of experience in your field.

The AMS Resource Center is located in Exhibit Hall 5 of the Phoenix Convention Center. The hours of operation are Monday, 5:30–7:30 p.m.; Tuesday, 8:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m.; Wednesday, 8:30 a.m.–6:30 p.m.; and Thursday, 8:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m.

Message Center

AMS will operate a message center in the lobby of the Phoenix Covention Center for meeting attendees and exhibitors. The message center hours of operation are listed below. To leave messages for attendees or exhibitors, please call 602-239-5905:

Business Center

UPS Store Business Centers are located throughout the Phoenix Convention Center. The stores provide printing services, office and convention supplies, and shipping and freight services. The hours of operation are 8:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday; 7:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. Monday–Friday.

E-Mail Stations
Sunday–Thursday, 4-8 January

E-mail stations will be located on the Lobby Level 1 and Level 2 Meeting Room Foyers of the Phoenix Convention Center. As a courtesy to other attendees, e-mail users are asked to limit their time at the e-mail stations. Hours of operation Sunday–Thursday, 4-8 January, are from 7:30 a.m. until the close of activities in the convention center.

For attendees with their own laptops, wireless access is free in all public areas, such as lobby/prefunction spaces.

Member Services

A Member Services Desk is collocated with the AMS Registration Desk in the Lobby of Exhibit Hall 5 of the Phoenix Convention Center. The Member Services Desk provides attendees with the opportunity to renew dues, apply for membership, and/or inquire about account activity. AMS staff will be available for assistance during the following times: Monday, 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.; Tuesday–Wednesday, 7:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m.; and Thursday, 7:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m.

Attendee Information Desk

The AMS Information Desk is located in the Phoenix Convention Center, on the first floor near the Food Court at the Fifth Street entrance, one level up from the AMS Registration Desk. The hours of operation on Sunday–Thursday will coincide with those of the Registration Desk. The Information Desk provides maps of the convention center as well as schedules of committee meetings and conference sessions, plus details on other programs of interest.
