Coriolis Reception

Sunday, 6 January 2019, 8:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m.
Deer Valley (Sheraton Grand)

The Coriolis reception brings together lesbian–gay–bisexual–transgender–queer (LGBTQ) friends and allies to mentor, network, and connect with individuals who share common professional and personal interests. The 10th year Coriolis reception will feature two speakers: Dr. Raquell Holmes and Mr. Ian Colon-Pagan. Dr. Holmes is a trained cell biologist and founded ImprovScience which helps scientists build collaborative learning and research environments. Mr. Colon-Pagan started the annual Coriolis reception ten years ago and currently works for the U.S. National Weather Service in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Students and professionals from all levels, as well as their relatives, are welcome to attend and participate. The 2019 reception will be hosted by the AMS Board of Women and Minorities (BWM) and sponsors listed below. For additional information, please contact the AMS BWM Chair-Elect, Aaron Piña (pina.aaron@gmail.com), or the current BWM Chair, Mona Behl (mbehl@uga.edu). Attendees are encouraged to follow “Coriolis: LGBTQIA+Friends in AMS" on Facebook.
