Sunday, 28 January 2024 | 12:45 PM - 3:45 PM Eastern | Baltimore Convention Center, 317
Join the AMS Committee on Environmental Stewardship for Wikipedia edit-a-thon where people can learn how to edit Wikipedia articles and apply those skills to raise awareness about environmental issues surrounding the local Baltimore community. Wikipedia has revolutionized the way knowledge is disseminated, making it easier than ever to create, edit, and share up-to-date information. This platform is useful in the careers of current and aspiring scientists to help their science reach people on a community level. In this two part workshop, a Wikipedia expert will first teach participants how to edit Wikipedia articles. Afterwards, participants will work together to improve existing articles and identify lacking areas of knowledge with the common goal of expanding community access to environmental initiatives and concerns.
This is a ticketed event. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased through the AMS website. To attend this event, add the Wikipedia Edit-a-thon ticket to your registration. A second form of payment can be used to register for this event.
