It is the Society’s sincere desire to comply fully with both the letter and the spirit of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990. For questions about accessibility, such as real-time captioning [communication access real-time translation (CART)], special printing needs, or reserved seating, please contact AMS staff by email ([email protected]) or by phone (857-930-7492). Four-week advance notice is recommended to ensure seamless action.

 

If issues arise on site in Baltimore, please visit the AMS Registration Desk. Special housing needs should be requested when hotel reservations are made. AMS wants to ensure that each attendee's stay at the 104th Annual Meeting is a pleasant and productive one.

Child Care Grants:

 

The American Meteorological Society is offering child care grants of up to $400 per family to assist conference attendees who will incur additional expenses by attending the Annual Meeting. Limited funds are available and preference is given to applicants in the early stages of their career. As a secondary criterion, preference will be given to applicants who explain clearly why a grant to support childcare, dependent care or their own assistance is necessary. To apply, please fill in this form and email it to Christine Card, [email protected], by November 15th. Recipients will be notified by 29 November 2023. Reimbursement distribution will be Late February 2024. 

Caretakers:

 

AMS welcomes those who assist others in need during the 104th Annual Meeting. Caretakers are individuals who are at the meeting to assist with childcare or those with ADA needs. Individuals may email [email protected] for registration guidance.         

Dietary Restrictions:

 

Attendees with special dietary requirements (e.g., vegetarian or kosher meals) should notify the AMS Meetings Department and/or visit the AMS Registration Desk to inform AMS of these requirements. Should an attendee have any specific requests and/or concerns, please contact the AMS Meetings Department at [email protected].

 
Lactation Room:

 

A lactation room is available at the Baltimore Convention Center. Please see the AMS Staff at the AMS Registration Desk for access.

Quiet and Meditation Room:

 

The Quiet and Meditation Rooms are open to all attendees.

If you need abstracts or other on-demand content in a different format please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We would be happy to provide you with different versions as needed.
