The AMS Short Course on Integrating Weather and Climate with GIS Technology Part 1: Desktop and Online Applications – Saturday, 11 January 2020 preceding the 100th AMS Annual Meeting in Boston, MA.
Want to take your analysis of weather and climate data to the next level by integrating spatial statistics, impact analysis, and machine learning? Learn to apply modern GIS techniques in this two-part course specifically tailored for meteorological and climatological workflows. Part 1 (on Saturday) will leverage desktop and online GIS software to conduct scenario-based analyses. Part 2 (on Sunday) will demonstrate how to use Python notebooks to access powerful GIS spatial analysis techniques. While experience with Python is required for Part 2, no experience with GIS software is required for these courses. Hardware and software will be provided.
