The conference brings together AI researchers and environmental scientists, with the goal of fostering collaboration between the two groups. We aim to increase the understanding and use of AI techniques in the environmental sciences and to demonstrate the wide range of open problems in the environmental sciences. AI encompasses a broad field of computational intelligence disciplines including data mining, machine learning, statistical learning, self-organizing systems, evolutionary learning and expert systems.
The theme for the 2017 AMS Annual Meeting is “Observations Lead the Way.” Therefore, we particularly welcome contributions that employ AI techniques to improve sensor placement, quality control or other applications related to observations. In addition, we invite submissions on topics related to artificial intelligence and its applications to environmental science.

The $95 abstract fee (payable by credit card or purchase order) is refundable only if your abstract is not accepted.
Your fee includes your abstract, extended abstract (optional), and your recorded oral presentation posted to the online program which is available to all visitors for free.
The organizers of the Artificial Intelligence Conference are pleased to offer partial travel grants for two students ($500 each). They will also provide cash awards for outstanding student oral ($200 first place, $150 second place, $100 third place) presentations at the conference. Students who wish to be considered for these awards must be the first author, presenting their own work, and need to indicate their competition entry when submitting their abstract. The outstanding paper awards will be based on originality of research and quality of presentation delivery. Students who would like to be considered for partial travel support should also indicate so when submitting their abstract and may be asked to submit justification for these need-based funds.
