Robert A. Houze, Jr. Symposium

view in conference program

Presentation Topics

This symposium will celebrate and honor Professor Houze for his 45-year career as a researcher and educator and his seminal contributions to the fields of mesoscale and tropical meteorology.  His pioneering studies on mesoscale convective systems, and their role in global weather and climate systems, have become classics with paramount influences. Papers are solicited on all aspects of mesoscale and tropical meteorology, especially dynamical and physical processes of clouds and precipitation, tropical cyclones, orographic precipitation, and observations and modeling of convective cloud systems along with their impacts on global weather and climate.   We will have a limited number of invited speakers and anticipate that many submissions will be presented in a poster session.
