Do you have what it takes to be an AMS Student Assistant?
We are looking for dependable undergraduate student members to work directly with AMS staff at the AMS Annual Meeting in Houston, Texas. Students must be able to assist the full week. Student Assistants will be provided with hotel accommodations (shared with one or two other students at the discretion of AMS staff), meeting registration (short courses not included), and a small per diem to offset meal expenses. Travel costs are not covered under this program. When not working, students can network, attend sessions, and visit the exhibit area. Although being a student assistant is a demanding job, it is fun and educationally rewarding too!
Undergraduate sophomore, junior and senior AMS student members are eligible. Membership must be current to apply. Check your member status in your account profile and renew for the full year of 2021 if necessary. Apply for student membership if you are not a member and pay for the full year of 2022. Interested students must complete the online application form. Use the application link below and log in using your AMS Profile credentials, then select 'AMS Annual Meeting Student Assistant Program' from the choices available. Your academic advisor will receive an email for validation of your good standing once the application is submitted. Applications are reviewed after the deadline date and positions are filled until the required number is met. If all positions are filled, a waiting list will be established for remaining qualified applicants in the case a position opens. We prefer to accept no more than four students from any one school unless there are not sufficient applicants from other locations. All candidates are notified by email of their standing.
