21st Annual Student Conference
Securing the Future: Guiding Tomorrow's Leaders in the Weather, Water, and Climate Enterprise
The 21st Annual AMS Student Conference will take place on the weekend before the main AMS Meeting (Saturday and Sunday, January 22nd-23rd). The student conference, in-person poster session will be held on Saturday, 22 January from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and the remote poster session will be held on Sunday, 23 January from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The student poster session is a great opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to present their research, network with fellow students and professionals, and gain experience presenting their research. It will be held in-person, although we are also offering an asynchronous virtual poster session for those who do not wish to physically attend the meeting. Please note that only students presenting in-person will be eligible for poster session awards. To present, you must register for and attend the Student Conference, and you also must be a 2022 AMS Student Member.
We want to make sure all student conference attendees are aware that there will be in-person networking with professionals at the student conference. We have already received commitments from a variety of speakers in various sectors in the weather, water, and climate enterprise to join us in Houston. We are providing ample opportunity to students to network with these professionals, including an expanded conversations with professionals session. We are planning this robust line up of speakers and networking opportunities that every student should be excited to attend if they choose to join us in Houston
The AMS Student Conference Planning Committee is seeking professionals who are willing to judge in person posters for the student conference poster session. If you are in the Houston area and are interested in judging we would love to have you. Please fill out this form (https://forms.gle/ZCS1GuSBpsiTZJtMA). In addition, if you are interested in participating beyond just judging feel free to note this in the comments!

If you are presenting a poster in-person you can use Fedex in the Hilton to print out your poster. With this link https://docstore.fedex.com/hco5721 you can create your order to be picked up at the Hilton.

Student Award Opportunities
Presenters will have the opportunity to participate in the 2022 Student Conference Poster Competition. Five awards will be given for poster presentations in each category: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. All 15 winners will be awarded a certificate as well as a $100 prize.
To be eligible for the presentation awards, presenting authors must be registered for the AMS Student Conference and be an active AMS Student Member (or AMS Member) for 2022.
