• First Impression:  Your headshot may be the first thing someone sees, especially in your professional career. You want to present yourself well and with confidence.

WAYS TO USE A HEADSHOT

• LInkedIn and Twitter and other social media platforms.
• For company features, speaking engagements, or industry associations.  
• Career Growth: A great professional headshot may be the first thing recruiters see on line. Having a photo vs. not having one makes a difference, especially a professionally taken photo. 
• Networking: A visual image helps you stand out and be memorable, especially in our recently more virtual way of operating.

HEADSHOT DRESS GUIDANCE

Generally for men, dark suit or jacket - grey, navy for example. Nothing with too much pattern that will distract. Light shirt and matching tie for example, but not mandatory. A photo with a tie and without a tie can be done. If not wearing a jacket, usually a light colored shirt is better than white for the best definition, however, white can certainly be worn. 

For women, if wearing a pattern, a colored jacket or sweater over it works well.  No bold or distracting patterns or colors.  Bare arms for women can work, but would suggest bringing a jacket or sweater to have two different looks. Again, with and without jacket/sweater photo can be taken. Nothing too trendy - that way the photo has longevity.
