Robert Dickinson is one of the most prominent scientists and an exceptional leader, who has been closely associated with the growth of AMS and the fields it represents. The Dickinson Symposium includes four sessions (Earth system modeling and climate change, land surface modeling and remote sensing, large-scale atmospheric dynamics, and aerosol approaches to climate engineering), with each session starting with a keynote speech on the past, present, and future in the topic area. The four invited and diverse keynote speakers are Gordon Bonan, Inez Fung, Angel F. Adames-Corraliza, and Simone Tilmes.
