The 27th Conference on Aviation, Range, and Aerospace Meteorology is sponsored by the American Meteorological Society and organized by the AMS Committee on Aviation, Range, and Aerospace Meteorology.

Call for Papers

The 27th Conference on Aviation, Range, and Aerospace Meteorology is soliciting papers on the following topics: 

  • Advances in the Use of Artificial Intelligence in Support of Aviation, Range, and Aerospace Meteorology (Joint Session)
  • Decision Support and Forecast Uncertainty in Support of Aviation and Range Decision-Making
  • Emerging Research in Range and Aerospace Meteorology
  • Hazardous Weather and High-Stakes Operations: Weather Case Studies from Aviation and Range Operations
  • Impact of Clouds and Visibility on Aviation Operations
  • Impact of Convection on Aviation and Range Operations
  • Impact of Icing on Aviation Operations
  • Impact of Turbulence on Aviation Operations
  • Microscale Weather Impacts to Aviation and Range Operations
  • Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) and Emerging Sensors

Joint Sessions 

  • Atmospheric Electricity Impacts on Aviation, Range, and Aerospace Meteorology (Joint with 13 Lightning)

  • Aviation Decision Tools using Advanced Satellite Products (Joint with 23 OESS)

Student Award Opportunities

The 27th Conference on Aviation, Range and Aerospace Meteorology is proud to provide outstanding student presentation awards at the AMS 107th Annual Meeting in Denver, CO 10-14 January 2027. Monetary awards of up to $200 will be distributed for oral presentations and in addition to a PDF certificate from AMS. Students must be enrolled at a college or university at the time of submission and must be the lead author and personally present the work at the meeting. Submitters should indicate their eligibility for student awards when submitting their abstracts. Award recipients will be informed of the committee's decision by early February 2027.
