Virtual Attendees

Virtual Attendees

In the online program, there are many ways to customize your experience and participate in live sessions and networking events. We feel that virtual attendance will allow us to attract many new attendees and allow for a level of inclusiveness.  That includes:

  • 40+ live oral sessions, including a mix of presentations made by in-person and virtual presenters, for a total of 600+ for the week.
  • Q+A’s and discussions with all in-person and virtual oral presenters in real time via Zoom and/or audience microphone.
  •
  • Recordings from all oral sessions (available at the session level in the online program 72 hours after the session ends).
  • All poster presentations (in-person and virtual)
  • Abstracts and supplementary material (PDFs, slides, links, etc.) fr all presentations in the online program as long as the presenter has uploaded these materials. (Please note: Providing supplementary material is optional for presenters.)
  • Asynchronous Q&A chat with presenters and session chairs before and after presentations take place
  • Attendee to attendee messaging
  • Access to the online exhibitor listing

All participants, in-person and virtual, will have access to content before, during, and up to three months after the meeting takes place.

Joining Sessions

Attendees are able to access each session’s Zoom directly in the Online Program or Mobile App. Please click the "Join Now" button in the online program under the session title. We recommend all attendees join the virtual meeting five minutes before the scheduled start time by clicking the "Join Now” button. Please note that this meeting will occur in the Mountain Time (MT) zone, so please plan accordingly.

Recordings

All oral sessions will be recorded. Recording will be available at the session level in the online program 72 hours after the session ends.

Preparations

We recommend that you prepare by blocking off as much of your calendar as possible during the week of the 8-13 January 2023. Additionally, we recommend you login to the online program to familiarize yourself with navigation, build your agenda, and review the program and available  presentation materials and other content.

Zoom

To Prepare for your Zoom Session:

  • Choose an uncluttered location inside that is quiet, and free from interruptions.

  • Ensure you have a strong and secure Wi-Fi connection

  • Ensure your Zoom application is up-to-date

  • Use an AMS provided virtual background (if desired).

  • Before joining the live session, close all unnecessary applications so all processing power can maximize the quality of your Zoom experience.

  • Turn off all sound notifications (on your computer/ cell phone/ tablet, etc.) to avoid any audio or visual disruptions.

  • Pay attention to the lighting in the room. Too much light behind you will make you appear like a dark figure. Make sure you have a good source of light in front of you.

  • Test your microphone and computer audio before the meeting. If you are using a headset with a built-in microphone, be sure to test this well in advance of the meeting. Be conscious of any external noise close to your microphone, such as your hair or rustling papers.
