Student Award Opportunities

Student Presentation Awards

Student presentation awards for both oral and poster presentations will be extended to the top student presenters (undergraduate or graduate) participating in the 17th Conference on Weather, Water, Climate, and the New Energy Economy (17Energy) at the AMS 106th Annual Meeting in Houston. The awards of up to $200 will be given for outstanding oral and poster presentations to assist with the expenses of participating in the conference, and awardees will also receive a certificate of achievement from the AMS. Students will be graded by members of the AMS Energy and Renewable Energy Committees. To be eligible, students must participate in 17Energy and must be a current student in good academic standing (e.g., not on probation or disciplinary action for grades or conduct) at the time of submission and must be the lead author or presenter of the work. Students must also agree to have their presentations recorded or upload a PDF copy of their poster. Submitters should indicate their eligibility for student awards when submitting their abstracts. Award recipients will be informed of the committee's decision by late February 2026.
