All presenters must also register for the meeting.
The 24th Joint Conference on the Applications of Air Pollution Meteorology with the A&WMA is sponsored by the American Meteorological Society and organized by the AMS Committee on Meteorological Aspects of Air Pollution.
For additional information, please contact the program chairs: Chenghao Wang ([email protected]) and Sudheer Bhimireddy ([email protected]).
Papers for the 24th Joint Conference on the Applications of Air Pollution Meteorology with the A&WMA are solicited on topics associated with all aspects of air pollution meteorology. In particular, we encourage submissions on transport and dispersion modeling systems, air pollution and atmospheric chemistry, urban meteorology and dispersion, and regional to global scale transport and dispersion. Studies of interest range from the microscale to the global scale and may include field and laboratory measurements, instrumentation, theoretical studies, numerical modeling, evaluation studies, and applications.
This year, the conference is organizing sessions on the following topics:
Data Science and Machine Learning Applications for Air Pollution Modeling and Observations (Joint with the 25th Conference on Artificial Intelligence for Environmental Science).
Meteorological Aspects of Atmospheric Chemistry Modeling and Air Quality Forecasting (Joint with the 28th Conference on Atmospheric Chemistry).
Measurements and Standards in Air Pollution Meteorology (Joint with the 26th Symposium on Meteorological Observation and Instrumentation).
Student Presentation Awards
The 24th Joint Conference on the Applications of Air Pollution Meteorology with the A&WMA is proud to provide outstanding student presentation awards at the AMS 106th Annual Meeting. Monetary awards of up to $150 will be distributed for oral presentations and poster presentations in addition to a PDF certificate from AMS. Students must be enrolled at a college or university at the time of submission and must be the lead author or presenter of the work. Submitters should indicate their eligibility for student awards when submitting their abstracts. Award recipients will be informed of the committee's decision by late February 2026.
Student Presenter Travel Allowances
The 24th Joint Conference on the Applications of Air Pollution Meteorology with the A&WMA is awarding two (2) travel grants of up to $630 each to allow student presenters to attend the AMS 106th Annual Meeting in Houston, TX 25 - 29 January 2026. The award should be used to offset travel related expenses only (registration fees, transportation, lodging and food). To apply, students (Undergraduate and Post-Graduate) should prepare a short written statement (no more than one page) declaring their financial need and circumstance, relevance of their research to the conference, how they will benefit from attending the conference and a copy of their abstract for the meeting. Students who wish to apply must submit their application to the program chairs via email with the subject line “AMS 106th Annual Meeting - Student Presenter Travel Allowance Application”: Chenghao Wang ([email protected]) and Sudheer Bhimireddy ([email protected]).
