From Learners to Leaders: 25 Years of Building the Future in a Rapidly Changing World

The 25th Annual Student Conference is sponsored by the American Meteorological Society and organized by the AMS Board on Student Affairs/Student Conference Planning Committee.

The 25th Annual Student Conference will take place 24-25 January 2026, the weekend before the main AMS annual meeting. The Student Conference provides opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students to broaden their horizons, cultivate new skills, hear from leaders in the weather, water, and climate enterprise, and network with fellow students and professionals.  Attendees also have the opportunity to participate in workshops to help with their professional development as well as attend the Graduate School and Career Fair to help with planning the next step in their career.  Students also have the opportunity to gain valuable experience by presenting their work at the Student Conference Poster Session.  The full program will be available in October 2025 and it is our intention to offer both in-person and virtual participation options at this time.

The 2026 AMS Student Conference is excited to hold a student poster contest at the AMS Student Conference poster session on Sunday, 25 January 2026

The Student Conference is open to any undergraduate or graduate student who is an active AMS Student Member or Member–Graduate Student. Apply for/renew membership here if necessary before registering. Student Conference registration is separate from AMS Annual Meeting registration.
