Call for Papers

The 11th Conference on the Meteorological Application of Lightning Data is now soliciting session topic proposals from the AMS community (see above Call for Session Proposals for more details). Suggested topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Relationships between thunderstorm kinematics, microphysics, and lightning
  •  Lightning climatology
  • Modeling & data assimilation with lightning data
  • Lightning observation technology & data processing techniques
  • Lightning data for operations
  • Lightning safety/hazards

Student Award Opportunities

11th Conference on the Meteorological Application of Lightning Data Student Presentation Awards

 

The AMS Committee on Atmospheric Electricity will host a student paper competition to recognize outstanding student contributions. Three awards each will be presented for oral and poster presentations with cash prizes to first author students presenting their own original work. Both graduate and undergraduate students can apply for the competition. Students who wish to be considered for the competition must indicate their eligibility when submitting their abstracts. Students from under-represented minority groups are strongly encouraged to apply.
