The symposium will be organized in four oral and one poster sessions. Papers are solicited on all aspects of polar meteorology and oceanography, broadly including, but not limited to, the following sessions topics:
Paper Award
The Committee on Polar Meteorology and Oceanography welcomes abstract submissions from students. Awards will recognize two outstanding oral and two outstanding poster presentations given by students. To be eligible for the awards, you must be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student enrolled at a university, and you also must be the lead author and presenter of the work. Registrants should indicate their eligibility for student awards when submitting their abstracts.
Travel Award
The committee is pleased to offer student awards at the Annual Meeting in Baltimore, MD 28 January- 01 February 2024. The Student Presenter Travel Allowance is designed to help offset expenses relating to registration fees, transportation costs, food, and lodging for students presenting poster or oral papers. To apply, students should prepare a short written statement (no more than one page) declaring their financial need and circumstance, relevance of their research to the conference, how they will benefit from attending the conference, and a copy of their abstract for the meeting. Travel allowance applications are due 13 October 2023, and should be submitted to [email protected] and [email protected]. Students selected to receive the travel allowances will be notified by 01 November 2023.
