Author and Presenter Instructions

The 10th Conference on Weather, Climate, and the New Energy Economy is sponsored by the American Meteorological Society and organized by the AMS Renewable Energy Committee.

Topics Covered

Papers for this conference are solicited on the following:

  • resiliency of the electrical grid to extreme events such as hurricanes, heat waves and severe cold, and the ability of renewable energy power plants to ensure continuous and reliable delivery of electricity;
  • impact of climate change on investment and reinsurance communities which have monetary ties to traditional and renewable energy generation;
  • the Wind Forecast Improvement Project 2 (WFIP2) and other Department of Energy projects;
  • and updates on ongoing, new, and proposed large-scale national and international collaborations in the energy sector.

In addition, we welcome proposals for other sessions from the weather, climate, water and new energy economy community.

Student Award Opportunities

As we have done in the past, we will have awards for best student oral presentations and best student posters to encourage student participation. A partial student travel award of $500 will also be given. Information on applying for the student travel award will be posted this summer.
